Position Summary:

We are seeking a SDET Intern to contribute to and review end-to-end testing initiatives throughout the software development lifecycle. The SDET Intern’s responsibilities include software development, infrastructure development/maintenance, and testing tasks to focus on the testability, robustness, and performance of production software. The SDET Intern is a test professional with advanced programming skills that can create automated testing tools and frameworks to assist the manual testing process.

Major Job Accountabilities:

·         Perform system testing activities, completing automated testing needs, working with Developers and Product Quality Engineers to troubleshoot any testing issues.

·         Work with Managers, Product Quality, and others, to define testing strategies and test plans, create and execute automated test scripts and follow through on the prioritization and resolution of defects.

·         Assist Product Quality team with manual testing

·         Work with automation engineer to develop, improve, and maintain the following:

o    Automated regression test systems

o    Automated GUI test systems

o    CI/CD systems

o    Product Quality testing tools

Preferred Skills



·         Familiarity with Git, JIRA, Jenkins, Docker, Windows and Linux administration, MongoDB

·         Familiarity with CAE and CAD/CAM tools is a plus

·         Familiarity with Scrum Agile software development practices


General Competence

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

·         At least 6 months of software development or product quality experience, industrial or academic

·         Ability to develop test tools and frameworks in scripting and/or object oriented languages, especially Java, C#, and Python

·         Experience with multiple forms of software testing throughout the software development lifecycle: regression, functional, unit, black-box, white box, etc

·         Experience with Windows OS, Microsoft Visual Studio, and bug/defect tracking

·         Strong attention to detail

·         Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills

·         Good time management and organizational skills

·         A passion for design, development, and testing

·         Must be driven and take pride in your work

·         Must be solution oriented and a critical thinker

·         Proven ability to work collaboratively and adapt to different situations
